It’s Friday – and then means another group of Clever Little Things:

The first thing is something I noticed a few weeks ago when a friend and I were working on a shared Google document. If you are not logged in, Google assigns you an anonymous animal. Yes really anonymous (see photo below).

I’ve done some research (apparently I wasn’t the only one that noticed) and the list of animals is something like this: alligator, anteater, armadillo, auroch, axolotl, badger, bat, beaver, buffalo, camel, chameleon, cheetah, chipmunk, chinchilla, chupacabra, cormorant, coyote, crow, dingo, dinosaur, dolphin, duck, elephant, ferret, fox, frog, giraffe, gopher, grizzly, hedgehog, hippo, hyena, jackal, ibex, ifrit, iguana, koala, kraken, lemur, leopard, liger, llama, manatee, mink, monkey, narwhal, nyan cat, orangutan, otter, panda, penguin, platypus, python, pumpkin (really), quagga, rabbit, raccoon, rhino, sheep, shrew, skunk, slow loris, squirrel, turtle, walrus, wolf, wolverine, wombat. I’m sure there are a few I didn’t find – and they may change. Once again Google made me smile.

If you are Facebook friends with me, then you probably saw this video appear on my page a couple of days ago (thanks Jill) -I couldn’t resist sharing it here. It’s a simple little video of a girl who is scared before her first ski jump – It’s the perfect illustration of fear in just under one and a half minutes. We all feel like this, often if we are lucky.

For the final clever thing that made me smile this week I have selected the Grind website – written so personably, that I already feel like I know the people there, and exactly what to expect.
