About Aileen.

Hello, my name is Aileen and I think differently. I am not saying this to show off or boost my ego, it’s just the way it is.

I started my career in London, UK (yes, I’m terribly English – humor and all) as a Graphic Designer. I quickly became the girl with the idea notebook and soon my job was to think of ideas. I am obsessed with communication (I don’t even have the decency to hide it) and left design to become a speaker / author / person who taught others to communicate. I wrote a couple of books, the latest being USING PEOPLE and intend to write a few more.

Eventually your past catches up to you (despite moving countries to live in the USA) and people found my brain. Over the past few years I have been increasingly brain-storming with companies and individuals to create and implement ideas that work. So I figured it was time to come out of the closet and admit that I love this.

So both careers have eventually merged. I now, not only speak about the stuff I love: creating culture, communication and ideas, but I get to work with businesses (and individuals) actually making stuff happen.

I write 3 regular columns in various publications. One on communication, one on passionate local people and one on social media for Canadian Jeweler (I love to write). Before I left the UK I won the title of “Best Humorous Speaker in the UK and Ireland”.

When I’m not traveling, I work from a little white house full of strange objects, a couple of surfboards and a dog or two. I love the company of big cities, passionate people and post-it notes.

This blog is a place for the ideas I collect to hang out together. They may be about design, business, or communication but they are all about clever. I hope they inspire you in all sorts of ways.
