We must stand out…
I love this packaging from Reynolds and Reyner for Finnish Paint Company, WTP (Waldo Trommler Paints ). They came to the designers with a brief based around the phrase “We don’t just need – we must! stand out” (this makes me want to jump up and down with excitement). The client’s understanding that packaging is vital if you want to stand out in a crowded world fired the imaginations at Reynolds and Reyner and the results just make me want to sing (but not in public, no one deserves that). It is rather similar, isn’t it? And, if you read a bit of French, you’ll be able to see that they even added a “pun/joke” on each product (e.g.: on the butter, it reads “Gouté et approuvé par le petit chaperon rouge”, which means : “Approved by the Red Riding Hood”) (I don’t know if it attracts or repells customers to add such phrases, some are not funny at all …)
