USA X – a celebration giveaway…

It is ten years ago today that I boarded a plane and left London to come and live in the USA. Hundreds, no thousands of people have made this decade exciting, eventful and a whole lot of fun. I cannot thank you all, but I hope that if you have been in my life (on either side of the Atlantic) you know that I am grateful. There really is only one way to celebrate on a blog and that’s to have a giveaway so I’ve found some items you may like.
1. A couple of my new Chalkboard scratch pads, complete with white pencil and just waiting for your ideas.
2. A copy of The Icarus Deception, by Seth Godin (not available in stores yet) – see my post here
3. One of my favorite little things from this year – a packet of five minute candles, perfect for any celebration.
4. A surprise from my office (whatever fun stuff I have laying around)
Enter simply by leaving a comment below saying why you should win – you can make it funny or entertaining to make me smile but the winners will be selected in a random drawing. If you haven’t left a comment before 1. why not? 2. It may take a while for it to be approved, but don’t worry you will be entered.
TWO lucky people will win a set of prizes.
DEADLINE is tomorrow night (Thursday 13th at Midnight CST) – winner will be announced Friday morning.

December 12, 2012 at 6:48 amCongratulations on your ex-pat anniversary.
I feel I should win one of the chalkboard scratch pads because it will be a reminder to me of “flexibility”. Chalkboards represent the great opportunities we have to “redo” ideas – just erase and start over.
Merry Christmas!

December 12, 2012 at 6:51 amI should win because all of those goodies will be put to good use. And because I’m pretty awesome. Or something like that.

December 12, 2012 at 8:26 amPick me! I never win anything. Will flattery help (especially if it’s sincere)? I check your blog every morning because it’s great.

December 12, 2012 at 8:30 amI should win because my little Lola loves to play school more than anything else. The mini chalkboards – which I’m sure she’ll call the scratch pad – would be an awesome way to inspire her creativity. And the other stuff is just awesome (like me)! Happy anniversary!

December 12, 2012 at 10:35 amHappy Anniversary! Thank you for writing this blog! You have encouraged me to follow through on some of my quirkier ideas. I love that Seth Godin uses the word behemoth (it is one of my favorite words). I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
P.S. Great give away items!

December 12, 2012 at 1:31 pmI would love to win a chalkboard pad. Why? Because I’ve invested tons of money into products that Aileen keeps posting as “clever” on her site. The chalkboard pad would help me write down pros and cons of impulse buys. Although I do admit, I’ve been able to gift some pretty neato items this year….

December 12, 2012 at 2:30 pmLong time reader, first time commenter.
I’m ridiculously, head-over-heels in love with those chalkboard scratchpads, and we only met a few minutes ago!
Also, I bought candles several years ago for my husband’s 25th birthday, but they were the number kind…so now I can’t use them again until he’s 52. I keep meaning to buy the regular kind…

December 13, 2012 at 12:01 amI’d like to win the Seth Godin book. I’ve added your blog to my Pulse reader and I save more of your posts in Pocket than almost any other source. I’m reinventing myself as a web developer after 20 years in Marketing and 10 years as a SAHM. Pick me please!

December 13, 2012 at 1:34 am10 years?! I can’t even stay put 2 years – so good on you for that alone!
As for the Gift Giving–Well, I need some gifts to be giving…so if I win I’d ReGift for Christmas (or at least that’s what I’m saying at this moment in time…) Really I’ve used all my ‘luck’ up winning over at Genterie Supply Co, if I win again it would be like getting hit by lightning twice?!

December 13, 2012 at 8:02 amI am smitten with Seth. My right brain would twinkle light glow so brightly while reading his book I wouldn’t even need a reading lamp (or the five minute candles…) I will send you a reenactment sketch upon receipt and first read. And, as a bonus I will send YOU a surprise from MY office (guaranteed to be worth ones of dollars and priceless) Renee

December 13, 2012 at 11:56 pmI’m crazy about clever, have been for ages. Add to that my official Anglophile status and your gorgeous blog and you get a match made in heaven :). Congrats on ten years in the colony and let me know if you need an honest, homemade Christmas pudding (recipe from my husband’s amazing british grandma who ran a tea shop back in the day).
