Design Principles (from the UK government)…

Here’s something I never thought I would be writing. The UK Government have published their design principles and they pretty much rock. Apparently they came about as an add on to their digital principles (who knew?)
-
Start with needs
-
Do less
-
Design with data
-
Do the hard work to make it simple
-
Iterate. Then iterate again.
-
Build for inclusion
-
Understand context
-
Build digital services, not websites
-
Be consistent, not uniform
-
Make things open: it makes things better
The image of things they have banned made me smile (I won’t take offense at the light bulb)… Can we let the designers run the world now?
Find out more here (it’s worth the read).

By the way, the link to the design principles of the UK gov is broken. Seems like it lacks a : after https.
Have a nice day.
