It’s Friday again (it seems to happen every week) and I have some Clever Little Thing to share with you.

The first is quite simple (as many clever things are)… When you buy something from Sevenly.com (a site on a mission to change lives) you get a beautiful Thank you gif. You have just done something good, and they want you to know it. I love the attention they gave it. If your browser doesn’t show the moving version then you can either imagine it writing out the word, “Thank you” or you can go and support their cause and buy something cool.

When Pharrell wore his oversized Vivenne Westwood hat at The Grammys recently, Twitter came alive with “Hey Pharrell, Arby’s want their hat back” – and the hat did look just like the Arby’s logo.

Arby’s took notice – and when the hat went up for auction (to raise money for From One hand To Another) they made sure to bid – and win. It made me smile – what a great way to join in the story, and do good at the same time.  The mutually beneficial transaction began with a tweet from Pharrell: Hey @Arbys, you want my hat? Now’s your chance…,’

After the auction closed on Sunday, with the hat sold for more than $44,000, the singer tweeted: “Thank you to whoever bought my Grammy hat on @eBay for $44,100. Your donation benefits From One Hand to Another.”

The sandwich chain posted an image with their winning bid, and tweeted back to Pharrell. “You’re welcome. We’re HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back. Good luck at the #Oscars tonight!”

Sometimes taking notice is clever.
