Black + Decker (the rebrand) – and I like it.

Black + Decker have lost their ampersand and have a whole new look – it’s definitely has people talking. Most designers don’t seem to like it words like generic and weak are floating around. The great thing about the design world is that we can all have different opinions and still get a long. I like the new Black + Decker look, it made me grin (that’s my litmus test). It’s simple, straightforward and I trust it. I may now start thinking of it as a current brand, rather than a retro brand that reminds me of my Dad. I love the way it looks on tools – I may even leave them laying around the house.
What do you think of the new brand?

THAT SAID, it’s well-designed and it looks REALLY nice when applied across the board. If it was a new brand, it would be downright awesome.
Does that make sense to anyone else but me? 🙂
