Bernice Fitz-Gibbon is someone I would have liked to have met – her wit and perception are legendary. An American advertising executive and a pioneer in retail advertising, she changed the way that customers were treated in retail. She was the creator of the Macy’s slogan “It’s great to be thrifty” and “Nobody, but nobody, undersells Gimbels,”

You could do worse today that google Bernice and see what you can learn from her. I am going to dig out my copy of “Macy’s, Gimbels, and me; how to earn $90,000 a year in retail advertising” published in 1967 – I picked it up from Amazon and I’ve been meaning to read it for a while.

What is already in front of you that you can look at differently today?
