An indoor beach experience… at a museum

If you are anywhere near Washington DC get yourself to the The National Building Museum to see this. A beach, created by nearly 1 million translucent balls. From Brooklyn based studio, Snarkitecture (maybe the best name ever) this installation creates a summer experience with a difference. Visitors are invited to relax on the white beach chairs and umbrella, to jump, flip, dive and play in the pit of balls, or have a drink at the bar, read a book, or play paddleball.
For the minimalists among us, who also love the ocean (Ok, I’m talking about myself) this may be what heaven looks like.
For those of us that can’t get there (although I’m now thinking of moving a few things around) there is a live stream so we can live vicariously through those having the fun.
